Good Day To You All

It seems like I am losing my mind, was meant to be crafting yesterday, but well the sun was shining. So I decided what the heck I will go and do some gardening especially as I have 14 large hanging baskets, 2 which are already done plus 1 small one, 4 half baskets, 12 hanging bags, 1 large round hanging bag and loads and loads of pots to fill. 8 large hanging baskets and I large pot later I realised it was getting on and I still had to fleece them, so decided no blogging and probably no card making, how wrong was I. After dinner I sat down in front of the TV and decided to have a go at this week's challenge set by another lovely crafter and before I realised it I was finished.

I have used a white coloured card sized 5 inc x 6 inc turned sideways, embossed using the cuttlebug and swiss dots of course my favourite folder. I have then used Bazzil Basics Monochrome Typhoon cardstock for the backing card of both back ground papers and also for the stamped image which happens to be a Magnolia image called Tilda with Bunch of Roses coloured using Whispers Strokes Pens. A strip of dark blue ribbon with polka dots from Hobbycraft has been used with several Anita's gem stones in matching colours has been added to the card in various places. Also I have added sentiments to the top right hand corner and to finish off 2 colour related Prima flowers with a blue gem stone brad.

So there we have it a rather tiring day but a very successful one, until next time please take care of yourself.

How to Make a Wallet Card/Card Folder

Hi Folks,
I thought that today's post would be about something I enjoy making as I love to share. On the previous post you would have seen an oriental wallet card, I have been asked many times what are these. Well these are folders that you can slide things into such as money , notelets or even images. Another crafter gave me a website addy which is http://katharina1704.blogspot.com/ which has tutorials on and this is where I got the information on how to make these wallet cards or as know on this lady's site as card folder.

Here is the info on how to make these if anyone is interested in trying them out.

Take an A4 sheet of card, on the long side measure 28cm, score and cut.

Then on the short side measure 20cm, score and cut.

*Go back to the long side and measure 14cm, score down and fold crease carefully.

Then back to short side, measure 5cm, score and fold crease carefully all the way along the long side.

Unfold and then fold middle flap backwards.

On short side from middle measure 2.5cm, score at an angle so when unfolded its a triangle and cut.

On short sides measure 1.3cm and score right along including 5cm fold. Cut score line until 5cm fold & leave to make flaps on both sides.

Fold little flaps and add glue and press them on main section of card to make pockets.

* After this part I use my cuttlebug machine with the embossing folder swiss dots as this is the easiest time to do this. The only other extra's I do are just for personal touches, such as use my x-cut corner punch on the top corners and finally I use my x-cut ribbon slot punch twice on the top, either side for my ribbons. The rest is up to you in how you decorate your card or add personal touches.
I thought I would include pictures at stages to make it more easier to understand both for yourselves and also for me and I hope this is of help to you.

Beginnings - About me

Hi Folks,

I am just getting started into blogging and to explain, well for 21 years I worked for the same company just under different names and to cut a long story short I found the pressure to much in the end and had to retire early.

So, what to do to fill my days and help out in the home I decided to have a go at crafting, so I have now been making cards to just under 3 years and have many card making friends who also have blogs. One of my friends sets challenges on a card making site buy giving us a layout/desigin and we make a card/scrapbook page etc to follow it. I use these for all sorts of reasons such as birthdays and christmas, this way I do not have to buy anthing but the bits and bobs to make them.

I have also now tried my hand at calender making as well as candle stamping as have got addicted to Rubber Stamping. I thought this would be a great idea for gifts such as at Christmas, it cuts the cost, saves on hunting for ideas and is more personal. So I am just showing a few of my cards to get started.
